Manitoba reported  201 fresh COVID-19 cases with 4 fatalities

According to Manitoba health officials, four more Manitobans have died from COVID-19, and 201 additional illnesses have been detected across the province.

Manitoba’s total current case count is now 1,449, with 523 proven to be variations of concern, according to the province’s online COVID-19 dashboard.

According to records compiled by Global News, it’s the highest one-day increase in new cases reported in Manitoba since June 12.

The total number of deaths on the site has increased by four to 1,285. The additional deaths will be detailed in the province’s next COVID-19 update, which will be released on Monday.

The five-day test positivity rate in the province is now at 5.2 per cent.

With 66 illnesses recorded on Friday, the Southern Health region witnessed the biggest one-day increase in cases.

62 cases were recorded from the Winnipeg Health Region, 26 from the Prairie Mountain Health Region, 26 from the Northern Health Region, and 21 from the Interlake-Eastern Health Region.

116 of Manitoba’s recent infections were among persons who had not been vaccinated, six were partially vaccinated, and 79 were fully vaccinated, according to health data.

Manitoba, COVID-19 cases increased by 201, including four deaths.

Officials claim that as of Friday morning, 154 hospitalizations and 27 patients in intensive care units have been reported due to COVID-19.

According to a provincial website tracking immunization efforts, 87.3 per cent of eligible Manitobans have received one vaccine injection, and 84.6 per cent have received two. On Friday, 174 vaccines were scheduled, according to the website.

According to the site, vaccine uptake has been significantly lower in portions of Southern Health, with only 68.9% of individuals eligible having been inoculated as of Friday.

According to health records, 3,375 COVID-19 tests were completed on Thursday.

On Thursday, the province revealed the addition of 179 new cases and five deaths.

Since March 2020, Manitoba has reported 66,378 cases of COVID-19.
