As per the news release from the provincial government, 539 cases and six additional COVID-19 deaths have been confirmed in Manitoba in the last three days, including 211 instances on Sunday.

The daily case count on Sunday was the highest in nearly six months. The previous record was set on June 12th, when 294 instances were reported.

On Saturday, 191 new instances were reported, and 137 on Monday. Manitoba’s seven-day average daily case count is now nearly 159, up 29 from Friday’s 130.

The five-day test positivity rate in Manitoba is now 6.3 percent, up from 5.1 percent on Friday.

A guy in his fifties and a man in his sixties, both from the Southern Health region, died on Saturday. According to the news release, both deaths are linked to an outbreak at the Manitoba Developmental Centre.

At the center, a residential care facility for adults with intellectual disabilities in Portage la Prairie, there are still 16 active COVID-19 cases.

According to the public coronavirus statistics website, there have been a total of 20 cases linked to the epidemic at the Manitoba Developmental Centre: seven in employees and thirteen in non-staff. Two people have made a full recovery.

A lady in her 100s from the Winnipeg health region died, as did a guy in his 60s and a woman in her 80s from the Southern Health zone, all of whom were related to an epidemic at the Grace Hospital surgery unit.

The loss of a person in his 70s from the Prairie Mountain Health district was reported on Monday.

The covid-19 has already claimed the lives of 1,334 people in Manitoba.

With 186 new instances in the last three days, the Winnipeg health region led the way, followed by the Southern Health zone with 176 new cases.

Over three days, the Northern Health Region reported 79 new cases, while the Prairie Mountain and Interlake-Eastern health regions each had 49 new cases.

An outbreak has been declared in the Skyview unit of the Lions Prairie Manor personal care facility in Portage la Prairie. The facility has been moved to the province’s pandemic response system’s critical (red) category.

At this moment, no cases of B.1.1.529 or the omicron variant have been found in Manitoba, and all positive travel-related specimens are being analyzed, according to the province.

COVID-19 has hospitalized 152 Manitobans since Monday, an increase of 11 since Friday, with 30 in intensive care, an increase of seven.

According to a provincial spokeswoman, there were 90 patients in intensive care as of midnight Sunday, including COVID and non-COVID patients, 18 more than the pre-pandemic baseline of 72 individuals.

64 people in the hospital with COVID-19 are unvaccinated, 35 are fully vaccinated, and four are just partially vaccinated.

Twenty-two people in the ICU with active COVID-19 are unvaccinated, whereas two are completely vaccinated.
