According to a Thursday update to the province’s online COVID-19 dashboard, there are now 1,623 active infections in Manitoba. The five-day test positive rate in the province is 6.1%.

The site’s tally of deaths attributed to the virus grew by three to 1,344 on Thursday.

With 58 illnesses reported Thursday, the Winnipeg Health area recorded the most significant one-day increase in cases.

Another 53 cases are from the Prairie Mountain Health region, which has seen a drop in case counts in recent weeks.

The remaining new illnesses were discovered in the Southern Health region, the Northern Health region, and the Interlake-Eastern Health region, with 51 found in the Southern Health region, 28 located in the Northern Health region, and 13 discovered in the Interlake-Eastern Health region.

According to health data, 95 of Manitoba’s most recent infections occurred among those who had not yet been vaccinated, eight were partially vaccinated, and 100 were fully vaccinated.

According to the province, 3,627 COVID-19 lab tests were completed in Manitoba on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 hospitalizations reported in the province reduced by eight to 145 on Thursday. The number of persons in ICU as a result of the virus, on the other hand, increased by one to 35.

On Thursday, Manitoba reported 178 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths.

Manitoba has recorded 69,314 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 through March 2020. According to health data, 66,347 of those have now recovered.
